The corona pandemic continues to impact the overall economic situation and is causing a strong decline in the global demand for machine tools. Also DMG MORI has not been able to avoid its consequences: order intake, sales revenues and earnings in the first six months of 2020 were significantly below the high figures of the previous year. Order intake reached € 784.0 million (previous year: € 1,412.3 million). Sales revenues were € 838.0 million (previous year: € 1,276.4 million). Despite the difficult market and economic conditions, the results of operations were positive: EBIT amounted to € 33.2 million (previous year: € 103.4 million). The EBIT margin was 4.0% (previous year: 8.1%). Christian Thönes, Chairman of the Executive Board: “Due to the corona crisis, our customers are speeding up the transition to the digital factory. This strengthens our intention to further expand our future fields of Automation, Digitization and Additive Manufacturing. Investing in innovations, and especially in digitization, is the only way out of the crisis. The economic situation is and remains challenging. But we are well positioned and will continue to have positive results.”

Order Intake

Demand for machine tools declined significantly, due in particular to the corona pandemic. In the second quarter of 2020, and under severely difficult market and business conditions, DMG MORI recorded order intake of € 343.8 million (-51%; previous year: € 704.0 million). The previous year’s figure includes orders from the Energy Solutions division, which was divested in 2019. The adjusted, comparable order intake for 2019 amounted to € 595.1 million. Thus order intake fell in the core business with machine tools and services in the second quarter of 2020 by -42%. In the first half year we achieved order intake of € 784.0 million (-44%; previous year: € 1,412.3 million).

Adjusted for Energy Solutions, order intake amounted to € 1,280.8 million in the previous year. This corresponds to a decrease of -39%. Domestic orders were € 220.5 million (previous year: € 402.9 million). International orders amounted to € 563.5 million (previous year: € 1,009.4 million). Thus the share of international orders amounted to 72% (previous year: 71%).

Sales Revenues

Sales revenue development was also affected by the corona crisis and temporary part-shutdown at the European production plants in April. The resumption of production and assembly took place as planned on 4 May 2020. Sales revenues in the second quarter of € 380.0 million were significantly below the high figure of the previous year (-41%; € 647.2 million). At the end of the first six months, sales revenues reached € 838.0 million (-34%; previous year: € 1,276.4 million). The decline is due not only to the temporary part-shutdown of plants, but also to the fact that machines could no longer be delivered owing to the closure of international borders and factories, and to bottlenecks in transport and logistics. Our services and spare parts business was also negatively impacted. Domestic sales revenues were € 270.0 million (previous year: € 388.9 million). International sales revenues amounted to € 568.0 million (previous year: € 887.5 million). The export share amounted to 68% (previous year: 70%).

Order Backlog

On 30 June 2020, the order backlog amounted to € 1,082.8 million (31 Dec. 2019: € 1,197.4 million) – a calculated production capacity of an average of five months. In this regard the individual production companies report different capacity utilisation.

Results of Operations, Financial Position and Net Worth

The DMG MORI group’s results of operations were positive both in the second quarter and at the end of the first half year despite the difficult environment: In the second quarter EBITDA reached € 24.8 million (previous year: € 69.7 million). EBIT amounted to € 7.9 million (previous year: € 53.0 million). EBT amounted to € 7.4 million (previous year: € 52.7 million). EAT amounted to € 5.2 million (previous year: € 37.1 million). Earnings were also positive at the end of the first half year: EBITDA reached € 68.0 million (previous year: € 143.0 million). EBIT amounted to € 33.2 million (previous year: € 103.4 million). The EBIT margin was 4.0% (previous year: 8.1%). EBT amounted to € 32.2 million (previous year: € 101.9 million). As at 30 June 2020, the group reported EAT of € 22.4 million (previous year: € 71.8 million).

The financial position was also heavily influenced by the corona crisis: free cash flow amounted to € -79.7 million (previous year: € 81.9 million). In April 2020, DMG MORI was able to extend the existing syndicated credit line early for another five years at improved conditions. The balance sheet total decreased to € 2,257.4 million (31 Dec. 2019: € 2,469.6 million). The equity ratio improved to 56.7% (31 Dec. 2019: 51.9%).

Employees

As at 30 June 2020, the group had 7,074 employees, of whom 287 were trainees (31 Dec. 2019: 7,245). The number of employees has thus decreased by 171 when compared with year-end 2019. At the end of the first half year, 4,374 employees (61%) worked for our domestic companies and 2,700 employees (39%) worked for our international companies. Personnel costs decreased to € 253.3 million (previous year: € 307.0 million).

Research and Development

With dynamic and excellence we are forging ahead with our future fields of Automation, Digitization, Additive Manufacturing and DMG MORI Qualified Products (DMQP), as well as with Sustainability and Technology Excellence and are developing into an integrated solutions provider in the manufacturing environment. Automation and digitization solutions have gained even more in importance owing to the corona pandemic. This confirms and strengthens us in the consistent further development of our future fields. In financial year 2020, together with DMG MORI COMPANY LIMITED, we are presenting 35 innovations, including 10 world premieres, 3 automation solutions, 20 digital innovations and 2 new DMG MORI Components. Since May 2020, DMG MORI has been climate-neutral and has thus as one of the first industrial enterprises worldwide a balanced CO2 footprint.

Forecast 2020

The global economy and the worldwide market for machine tools are currently in a recession following the global spread of the corona virus. The global market for machine tools is therefore expected to decline sharply in 2020. In their April forecasts, the German Association of Machine Tool Builders (VDW) and the British economic research institute, Oxford Economics, are expecting growth in global consumption to fall significantly by -28.3% to € 52.3 billion (October forecast: -0.6%; € 71.7 billion). The next forecast of the professional associations will be published as scheduled in October.

The duration and the negative impact of the corona pandemic are currently not fully foreseeable, neither for the overall economy nor for the machine tool industry. Due to the complete change in the global economic conditions, DMG MORI is expecting a sharp decline in order intake, sales revenues, earnings and free cash flow in the financial year 2020. Nevertheless, the earnings will remain positive. The cost reduction and flexibilization measures initiated early in all areas should support the performance and profitability of DMG MORI. These measures – in addition to the further expansion of our future fields Automation, Digitization and Additive Manufacturing – make DMG MORI more resilient.

From today’s perspective and despite the ongoing recession, for the whole year we are planning order intake of around € 1.6 billion and sales revenues of around € 1.65 billion. EBT is expected to amount to around € 60 million. We also expect a balanced free cash flow. The forecast 2020 assumes that there will be no second lockdown in the further course of business due to the corona pandemic.

Igenhausen 26th January 2017 – The cooperative partnership between the HAIMER Group and DMG MORI has been further strengthened. Both companies signed a cooperation agreement which sets the standards for a premium partnership of HAIMER products. Furthermore, on the 1st of January 2017, HAIMER acquired the DMG MORI Microset GmbH company, which is now operating under the name HAIMER Microset GmbH.

Successful machining requires both powerful machines and highly-precise toolholding technology, which ensures that the precision is transferred from the spindle right to the cutting edge. That is why the business relationship between the HAIMER Group, an international leader in high-precision toolholding, and DMG MORI, a global leader in machine tool manufacturing, has been very successful and trustworthy for many years.

With the acquisition of the DMG MORI’s Microset Tool-Presetting Technology, the HAIMER Group, a family-run company with nearly 600 employees, complements its existing product portfolio. In addition to high-precision tool holders in all popular interfaces and lengths, the current product portfolio includes a variety of shrinking and balancing machines.

Claudia Haimer, CEO of HAIMER, explained, “Since the company location of HAIMER Microset GmbH with about 35 employees will remain in Bielefeld, Germany, this will be our second HAIMER production site, including our main headquarters in Igenhausen, Augsburg, Germany. The Bielefeld facility will be further expanded to become our Northern Germany sales and marketing hub, where we will be able to present the complete process chain that surrounds the machine tool to current and prospective customers. We are looking forward to the long-term development of the new HAIMER facility together with the employees in Bielefeld and an intensified partnership with DMG MORI.”

The cooperation agreement establishes an even stronger relationship between the two companies with a premium partnership. Henceforth, DMG MORI will purchase all products related to tool presetting, balancing and shrinking including shrink fit holders as well Tool Rooms exclusively from HAIMER. All DMG MORI technology and solution centers and production plants worldwide will be equipped with HAIMER products.

“We are looking forward to a successful cooperation together with HAIMER as a Premium Partner,” said Christian Thönes, CEO of the DMG MORI AG. “We will present our first joint products regarding the Smart Tool Management as early as the 2017 EMO show in Hannover.” The cooperation agreement additionally includes that DMG MORI will continue to display HAIMER Microset products during exhibitions and open houses and that they will continue to distribute these products through their worldwide sales and service companies.

A key building block in DMG MORI’s customer-oriented digitalisation strategy is the app-based CELOS system, that the machine tool manufacturer first presented around three years ago and which it has consistently continued to develop in a targeted manner ever since. Using this uniform user interface for machine and office PC, employees in shop floor and job scheduling can manage, document and visualise all job order, process and machine data. Thanks to its open architecture, CELOS allows the exchange of information with higher–level structures in addition to the impact it has in the shop floor area. So CELOS offers customers complete integration of their machines in the company organisation while simultaneously creating today the interface of metal cutting production in the cyber-physical production system of the future. The benefits in day-to-day operation are convincing: a 30 percent time saving in tooling times and 50 percent less time and effort for the calculation of technology values or the search for important information are just a few of the effects that can be achieved with CELOS. Customers also profit from the continuous further development of the CELOS system, because with every new release DMG MORI implements 50 enhancements. In addition, DMG MORI will be presenting ten new CELOS APPs at the AMB. These will include the new CELOS DEVELOPER APP, with which partners will be able to develop their own APP for the very first time.

Workshop-oriented programming is still of great importance, especially in single item production and the production of small and medium-sized quantities – and it will remain just as important for a long time to come. Working with cycles is state of the art in this respect and the reason why standard cycles in turning, milling and drilling have long been part of the scope of performance of modern controls. Based on its decades of application experience DMG MORI has gone far beyond the standard and currently has 24 exclusive DMG MORI technology cycles for the fields of turning / turning-milling or rather milling / milling-turning in its portfolio. These enable operators in the workshop to programme even complex machining tasks themselves directly on the machine via a dialog using parameterised context menus up to 60% faster. Outstanding examples here include the machining of free-form surfaces using 5-axis interpolation or various cycles for gear cutting or gearwheel production. Other cycle highlights include the MPC (Machine Protection Control) for the protection of machines, workpiece and tool, the 3D quickSET toolkit  for checking and correcting the kinematic accuracy of 4 and 5-axis machines or the Application Tuning Cycle for the process-oriented tuning of feed drives in relation to the table load at the push of a button.


World premiere: DMC 160 U duoBLOCK– maximum productivity in heavy-duty machining

DMG MORI has always responded to growing demands on components with future-proof CNC technology. The latest example of this is the new DMC 160 U duoBLOCK, which will be available as of this year’s AMB. The 5-axis universal machining centre with pallet changer is based on the proven duoBLOCK principle and in its 4th generation offers 30 percent more stability and accuracy while at the same time reducing energy consumption by 30 percent. Innovative highlights of the world premiere include the new 1,800 Nm 5X-torqueMASTER gear spindle and a travel path in the Y-direction that has now been lengthened from 1,250 to 1,600 mm.

Heavy-duty machining is now part of routine work in the field of mechanical engineering generally – in the aerospace branch, for example, or the automotive industry for the production of chassis parts and engine blocks. In this respect the sturdy construction of the patented duoBLOCK concept offers the perfect basis for both productive and high-precision machining on the DMC 160 U duoBLOCK. Its extensive cooling measures in the machine bed and base plus its wide linear guides, drives and the spindle also boost the long-term accuracy of this universal machining centre. The pallet changer of the DMC 160 U duoBLOCK can handle workpieces weighing up to 4,000 kg, while travel paths of 1,600 x 1,600 x 1,100 mm mean the workpieces can also have extremely large dimensions.

World premiere: 2nd Generation DMC 210 U– productive heavy-duty machining with pallet changer

Maximum rigidity and long-term accuracy have always been the outstanding features of the portal machines from DMG MORI. The machine tool manufacturer has optimised these even further in the second general of this successful series. With a large cube-shaped work area and a high-performance spindle programme plus CELOS in the standard version, the new DMU 210 U is perfectly equipped for the rising demands on the market. Thanks to its numerous equipment options this machine, which will be available just in time for the AMB, is ideally suited for mechanical engineering in general and in particular for sectors such as tool and mould making and aerospace. The large cube-shaped work area with travel paths of 2,100 mm in the X and Y directions and 1,250 mm in the Z-axis offer ample space here.

The fast and innovative wheel magazine can hold up to 303 tools (SK50 / HSK-A100) with lengths of maximum 900 mm despite its minimum space requirement. The standard chain magazine has 60 tool pockets and offers the option of holding a 30,000-rpm pick-up motor spindle. With a torque of 1,800 Nm, 52 kW output and 8,000 rpm the 5X torqueMASTER is a special highlight among the other available spindles. Thanks to its extended swivel range and optimised interference contour, this gear spindle enables the heavy-duty machining of complex 5-axis components. In addition to its equipment and performance, DMG MORI has also improved the efficiency of the DMU 210 U thus reducing energy costs and making a significant contribution to environmental friendliness.

Outstanding features here include the highly stable design of the universal machines, long-term accuracy and highest precision with up to 4 μm positioning accuracy even in the standard version. With its DMU 90 P duoBLOCK DMG MORI now presents a machining centre that will continue the triumphal march of the series. This latest model is designed as a package machine with a 430-Nm and 52-kW motor spindle, space for 60 SK50 tools plus an IKZ coolant unit and guarantees an economical entry into heavy-duty machining.

AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT: In the first quarter, order intake amounted to € 591.6 million and was thus at about the previous year’s level (€ 587.2 million). Sales revenues amounted to € 541.4 million (previous year: € 538.4 million). As in the previous year, EBITDA amounted to € 42.4 million, EBIT reached € 28.0 million (previous year: € 30.0 million) and EBT was € 25.8 million (previous year: € 27.9 million). As of 31 March 2016, the group reported earnings after taxes of € 18.1 million (previous year: € 19.5 million).

Sales revenues in the first quarter were € 541.4 million and thus exceeded the previous year’s figure (+ 1%; € 538.4 million). Domestic group sales revenues were € 184.6 million (previous year: € 184.7 million), international sales increased by 1% to € 356.8 million. As in the previous year, the export share amounted to 66%.

In the first quarter, order intake reached € 591.6 million and was thus at about the previous year’s level (€ 587.2 million). Domestic orders amounted to € 199.0 million (previous year: € 207.7 million). International orders amounted to € 392.6 million (previous year: € 379.5 million). Thus the share of foreign business rose to 66% (previous year: 65%).

As of 31 March 2016, the key income figures of the DMG MORI group developed as follows: As in the previous year, EBITDA amounted to € 42.4 million, EBIT was € 28.0 million (previous year: € 30.0 million) and EBT reached € 25.8 million (previous year: € 27.9 million). As of 31 March 2016, the group reports earnings after taxes of € 18.1 million (previous year: € 19.5 million).

Investments in property, plant and equipment and intangible assets in the first three months amounted to € 10.8 million (previous year’s value: € 25.4 million). Here, particularly the already started projects to strengthen our worldwide sales and service presence were a priority.

Expenses for research and development amounted to € 10.9 million in the first quarter (previous year: € 11.1 million). In financial year 2016, we are presenting a total of 12 new developments together with our Japanese partner. In the era of Industrie 4.0, we place particular focus on integrated technology and software solutions. Our app-based control and operating software, CELOS, allows us to currently offer our customers the key factor for an intelligent, networked production.

On 31 March 2016, the group had 7,491 employees of whom 275 were trainees. The number of employees remained almost constant compared to the end of 2015 (31 Dec. 2015: 7,462). At the end of the first quarter, there were 4,074 domestic employees (54%) and 3,417 employees (46%) working for the international companies. Personnel costs amounted to € 139.3 million (previous year: € 135.8 million).

The share price of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT at the start of the year was quoted at € 37.05 (04 January 2016). At the end of the first quarter, the share closed at a price of € 40.92 (31 March 2016).

Current
On 6 April 2016, DMG MORI COMPANY LIMITED announced that it had increased its direct and indirect shareholding in DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT to 76.03%. Moreover, at a Supervisory Board meeting, it announced its intention to conclude a domination and profit transfer agreement. Against this background, the Executive Board of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT has decided in coordination with the Supervisory Board to postpone the Annual General Meeting convened for 6 May 2016 to a later date.

Forecast
The global machine tool market is expected to grow only modestly in 2016. The German Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW) and the British economic research institute Oxford Economics expect in their latest forecast (status: April 2016) a growth of global consumptionby only 1.9% to reach € 68.6 billion. As in the previous years, the autumn forecast (2015: +4.1%) was significantly corrected downward; currently, this year by 2.2 percentage points.

In the financial year 2016, we continue to expect a volatile economic development. Influence factors for the cyclical development and thus, also for the investment tendency of companies are further declining growth dynamics in Asia and persisting exchange rate fluctuations between the international currencies.

We confirm our forecast for financial year 2016. We are expecting a slightly better order intake than in the previous year and are planning again sales revenues of around € 2.3 billion. EBT will be significantly below the high level of the record year 2015. We are also expecting a slightly improved positive free cash flow. As a result of DMG MORI COMPANY LIMITED intending to conclude a domination and profit transfer agreement, we are unable, at present, to make any comments on a dividend payment for financial year 2016.

Improved work ergonomics thanks to CELOS® and the new design

Produced for the European market at GILDEMEISTER Italiana, the NLX 2500|700 is available with very customer-specific expansion options so that it can ideally accommodate the specific application required. Buchholz Hydraulik uses a version equipped with a counter-spindle, C-axis and Y-axis as well as powered tools. “This enables us to both turn and mill the workpieces, and what is more, we can do this on the front and the back”, explains Heiko Neßler, the responsible machining technician. This is an enormous gain in productivity compared to the previous solution. “For the simple reason that we no longer need a second machine for milling.”

Another new aspect for Buchholz Hydraulik is the user interface of the NLX 2500|700. Since last year, DMG MORI has been supplying the machine equipped with CELOS® and a 21.5” ERGOline touch display. Operation of the interface is carried out intuitively and DMG MORI achieves a high degree of functionality with this combination of advanced software and hardware. Heiko Neßler programs the job order directly on the underlying MAPPS V control – often parallel to primary machining. One great advantage of CELOS® is its 3D-simulation of the program: “This warns us of potential collisions and also calculates the runtimes of the workpieces.” This option is used for calculations and other work scheduling. The new DMG MORI design rounds off the ergonomic operation of the NLX 2500|700 ab. “The large door provides good access to the work area”, says Heiko Neßler.

Buchholz Hydraulik comes to a very positive conclusion with regard to the NLX 2500|700 and the new CELOS® user interface: it has been possible to integrate machine concept perfectly into everyday production. This verdict is clearly confirmed by the fact that another two NLX 2500|700 machines are to be installed in the coming months.

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing is using a DMG MORI LASERTEC 65 3D in its research into applications for additive and subtractive manufacture. Dr David Curtis of the AMRC explains, “There is a big push in the application of 3D printing technology for components across different industrial sectors. A range of parts are already 3D printed, but our investigations are focussed towards overcoming the limitations presented by the maturity of some of the processes to broaden their scope of application. There is little doubt that as the technology develops we will see wider applications.”

Research is led by partners within industry that are looking at additive and subtractive technology. They regard it as a key disruptive technology which will offer a step change in the way in which products are made. Dr David Curtis says, “There is a growing interest in this emerging technology across UK based manufacturers and we partner with other centres across the UK that are investigating disruptive technology and metallurgy.”

The objective of the research is to understand the capability of the process and develop it to a higher technology readiness level. It will look at options such as growing features onto a base component or starting from zero, and aspects of sequential additive and subtractive manufacture and the capability that this will enable. The opportunity to investigate cladding and laser treatment will also be explored. The integrity of the parts produced will also be investigated, down to the micro structure level, as will repeatability to see if the process is good enough for critical components. Dr David Curtis adds, “It is clear that additive and subtractive technology is good for non-critical parts. Welding parts onto the structure, which is what happens on the LASERTEC 65 3D, will be quite different to forging or powder metallurgy. We will be examining post treatment options, such as depositing hard coatings, to ensure that strength is appropriate to function. Other options include the possibility of changing the composition of the material during the additive process.”

As a Tier 1 member of the AMRC, DMG MORI is delighted to be involved in this activity and that the AMRC has selected the LASERTEC 65 3D for its research. DMG MORI has been involved in several projects with the AMRC including ultrasonic machining with the DMG MORI ULTRASONIC 10 for carbon fibre machining with PCD tooling. Research is currently underway on cryogenic machining which gives the benefit of a clean working envelope and could have applications in high strength titanium which is generally a wet process at the moment. To support the research programmes, DMG MORI has an engineer permanently on site in Sheffield and the AMRC also has a good relationship with engineers at DECKEL MAHO Pfronten where researchers can initiate technical meetings and obtain additional training.

The LASERTEC 65 3D uses laser deposition welding to build up components and can lay down two different powdered materials during the 5-axis process, which is more than 10 times faster than powder bed technology. The machine can build parts up to 500mm diameter with undercuts and no supporting structure. The technology can also create parts with internal channels with its continuously monitored and measured laser build up process. The laser head is safe during milling operations outside the machining envelope, making it possible to alternate between milling and laser deposition, creating parts which would otherwise be very difficult or impossible to manufacture in one operation. As a special highlight the machine is equipped with the ULTRASONIC technology pack. This will allow post machining of wear resistant coatings that have been deposited with the additive solution using ultrasonic machining techniques. DMG MORI has four additive manufacturing technology centres worldwide and has a database of materials and their parameter settings for the technology and can work with customers on specific material development requirements.

The first application under investigation is the use of additive and subtractive technology in gear manufacture. The current technology for gear manufacture is well established so applying disruptive technology could result in a radical change for future manufacturing methods. Further investigations will cover topics more closely aligned to aerospace applications, exploring the art of the possible as well as assessing the application of the technology to advanced materials. Dr David Curtis says, “AMRC with Boeing partners are supporting this near net shape activity and the results from these projects will be disseminated through academic publications and conferences here in the UK and abroad. Additive and subtractive manufacture will also form an important part of the AMRC Factory 2050, which is to incorporate the next generation man-machine interfaces in a reconfigurable, data driven manufacturing environment.”

Even at the very first glance, the vertical machining centre impresses with its new ECOLINE design that ensures further improved work ergonomics and a higher level of value retention. The ecoMill V series is based on a C-frame cast iron bed for the best stiffness and vibration characteristics ensuring highest precision. Ball screws of the highest quality and a powerful 12,000 rpm spindle were combined to meet the highest standards in production. The performance of the ecoMill V machines even in the smallest size is outstanding already in the standard version. The highest precision (without direct scales) can be realized, due to direct coupling in X / Y, no belt drive for no backlash. An optimized machine structure also increases stability during machining, and a high degree of manufacturing flexibility is provided in the standard version by having 30 tool pockets in the tool magazine. The new 19 – inches DMG MORI SLIMline® multi-touch control with Operate on SIEMENS represents the next advanced step for a modern user interface. The practical and ergonomically optimised 19″ multi-touch display with its maximised resolution and 45° swivel range offers decisive user benefits.

NLX – Premium class universal turning
DMG MORI NLXStability and rigidity are the key to excellent machining results, long tool service life and efficient processes when it comes to lathes. And this is exactly what was taken into consideration in the development of the NLX series. Thanks to the overhauled machine bed and flat guides with their high damping capacity, the NLX models achieve a rigidity that is up to 30 percent higher than that of the predecessor series. This is also true of the NLX 2500SY|700 that will be showcased in Utrecht, with its counter-spindle, Y-axis (100 mm) and its turning length of 705 mm.

In particular, the larger ball-thread drives, which together with the enlarged bearings make the axes up to 50 percent more rigid, play a decisive role in the top performance achieved by this machine. In addition, DMG MORI has also improved thermal stability. The cooling system integrated in the machine bed reduces thermal displacement to a minimum. Add to all this the modular design of the NLX machines and you get the perfect basis for optimum turning operations. A special highlight in this context is the BMT® turret for 12 powered tools and speeds of up to 10,000 rpm.

NHX 4000 2nd Generation – Horizontal machining centres with outstanding rigidity, precision, and speed

Together with its bigger sister machine – the NHX 5000 2nd Generation – the new NHX series boasts a Direct Drive Table (DDM® technology) with speeds of up to 100 rpm and direct distance measurement systems from MAGNESCALE in all axes in its standard versions. The construction of the machines has also been optimised with regard to the use of shorter tools. The distance from the spindle nose to the centre of the pallet has been minimised to 70 mm thus ensuring longer tool service life and higher process stability.
