ISCAR is expanding the SUMOCHAM drilling head options by introducing a revolutionary drilling head geometry that features chip splitting notches on the cutting edge and an impressed chipbreaker on the rake for superior chip control on a wide range of materials.

The new ICG drilling heads are available in 16 to 25.9 mm diameters, in 0.5 mm increments. Popular sizes are also available for Heat Exchangers.

The ICG drilling heads ensure hole tolerance of IT9-10. The ICG geometry should be regarded as a general machining option and is mostly recommended for drilling austenitic stainless steel where it can solve chip evacuation problems in deep drilling applications.

The new ICG drilling heads can be mounted on any SUMOCHAM standard drill body with the appropriate pocket size.
These ICG drilling heads are made from IC908 TiAlN PVD nano layer coated grade and feature:

• High wear resistance
• Stable and predictable wear progression
• Efficiency with MQL cooling
• High surface quality
• Extended tool life

ISCAR is introducing the PENTA IQ D40 with a PB chipformer for parting and grooving bearing steel, soft steel and other ductile materials.

Currently, PENTA D40 inserts are available only with the “C” type chipformer that features a negative land suitable for parting at high feeds and for hard materials.

In order to cover the application range of low to medium feed ranges, and for machining soft and ductile materials, ISCAR is introducing new PENTA D40 inserts equipped with the PB chipformer.

The PB chipformer, which was successfully introduced on the PENTA 34 inserts, features a similar chipformer design like the “C” type, only it has a 0° frontal edge rake inclination and no land (the cutting edge is reinforced by a larger honing than the standard). This chipformer configuration exerts low cutting forces suitable for machining materials like bearing steel and soft materials.
The PB chipformer can successfully cover the application range of the “J” type chipformer.

Inserts made from cermet grade IC30N were added to the PENTA 24N-PF positive flat rake inserts family that are used for precision grooving and parting.

ISCAR is further upgrading and expanding the HELIOCTO line with new milling cutters that can carry single-sided octagonal, round and new square inserts.

ISCAR is introducing new families of HOF-R06 face mills and HOE-R06 endmills that feature advanced design with respect to the existing F45KT/E45KT…06 cutter families.

The new tools can carry the single-sided octagonal and round inserts, as the existing F45KT/E45KT…06 tools, and in addition, a new single-sided SEMT 140405ATR square insert. The SEMT 140405ATR inserts used in the HOF/HOE -R06 45º milling tools feature a much larger 5.5 mm depth of cut; when compared to the 2.5 mm depth of cut using OEMT 060405… octagonal inserts in the same cutter pocket. This feature considerably increases the versatility of the new family by enabling the removal of larger material stock per pass.

Available are 32 and 50 mm endmills and 40 to 125 mm face mills, in standard fine and coarse pitch tool configurations.

Following the successful introduction of the FCP flat drilling heads, ISCAR has adding 0.1 mm  diameter increment sizes to the 0.5 mm diameter increment sizes initially introduced.

The new diameter sizes are available in the full range of 8-25.9 mm diameters. The FCP SUMOCHAM flat heads were designed for drilling steel and cast iron components (ISO P  and ISO K material group). Drilling with the FCP inserts provides a nearly flat bottom in the hole, which is required in  a variety of applications.

Features:

  • The new FCP drill heads can be mounted on any SUMOCHAM drill featuring the appropriate pocket size.
  • The recommended cutting conditions for the FCP drilling heads are the same as those recommended for ICP drilling heads.
  • The FCP drilling heads are made from IC908 TiAlN PVD coated grade.

ISCAR has expanded the PENTACUT line by adding PENTA 24 economical inserts with five edges,  featuring the ability to perform threading applications.

Following the successfully market penetration of the PENTA 24 inserts, ISCAR is expanding the application range by adding the threading option.

Available are full profile inserts in the following thread standards: ISO, UN, Whitworth and BSPT. Partial profile inserts are available in 60º (MT) and 55º (WT) profiles.
