CAMWorks – Tolerance Based Machining (TBM) uses tolerances, hole callouts, surface finishes and other annotations to automatically generate CNC programs for 3D parts.

Chuck and Fixture Definition – Provides the ability to use chucks and fixtures designed using SOLIDWORKS parts and assemblies or STL files for toolpath simulation and collision detection in Mill-Turn and Turning. The chucks and fixtures can be moved or rotated in x, y, and z directions with respect to the Fixture Coordinate System (FCS) of the current part, ensuring that the chuck or fixture is properly aligned with the current part. SOLIDWORKS configurations of the chucks and fixtures are also supported.

3D Interconnect in SOLIDWORKS and CAMWorks Solids – Provides a continuous path of associativity from 3D model changes in all leading 3D CAD formats through automatic updating of toolpaths that dramatically speeds up re-programming as parts change.

SOLIDWORKS Integration – Tighter integration with SOLIDWORKS ensures that the design and manufacturing models are one and the same. Highlights for the financial year ended March 31, 2016 (FY16)

  • Revenues in USD terms grew 4.4% to USD 188.49 Mn in FY16 from USD 180.61 Mn in FY15
  • In INR, revenues stood at INR 12,334.57 Mn as against INR 11,053.01 Mn, a growth of 11.6%
  • Revenues for Geometric (excluding the joint venture company) showed a 3.9% growth to USD 138.22 Mn from USD 132.98 Mn in the previous year

Geometric’s revenues excluding its joint venture company were at USD 34.44 Mn as against USD 35.24 Mn in Q3 FY16 and USD 31.45 Mn in Q4FY15.

The latest version of DFMPro, significantly speeds up the design review time with its powerful new Microsoft Excel® based reporting feature. Highlights for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 (Q2 FY16)

  • Consolidated Profit after Tax rose to INR  230.24 Mn this quarter from INR 191.27 Mn in Q1FY16 and INR 162.9 Mn in Q2FY15, a growth of 20.4% q-o-q and 41.3% y-o-y
  • Revenue in USD terms grew to USD 47.46 Mn compared to USD 46.80 Mn in the previous quarter and USD 46.12 Mn in the corresponding quarter last year, a rise of 1.4% and 2.9% respectively
  • Signed new deals worth USD 12.14 Mn
  • Improvement in utilization from 72.7% last quarter to 74.1% this quarter contributed to better margins
  • EPS for the quarter at INR 3.57

The Company declared operating revenues of INR 3,083.52 Mn for the quarter, compared to revenues of INR 2,975.55 Mn in the previous quarter and INR 2,796.67 Mn in the corresponding quarter last year reflecting a growth of 3.6% q-o-q and 10.3% y-o-y. The Company’s revenue excluding its joint venture company rose to INR 2,245.86 Mn, a growth of 3.9% from INR 2,162.31 Mn in Q1FY16 and 9.2% from INR 2,056.18 Mn in Q2FY15. The Company’s EBITDA at INR 528.59 Mn showed a marked improvement of 27.0% q-o-q and 22.3% y-o-y.

  • Interactive feature recognition enhancements, including the selection of non-planar edges and faces

  • Automatic pre-drilling of holes for high-speed machining applications in CAMWorks VoluMill
  • New gun-drilling cycle specifically designed to support industry-standard tooling for deep-hole drilling and gun-drill operations.
  • New cycles to support point to point operations including center drilling, drilling, reaming, and tapping of holes in complex four and five axis components and assemblies.
  • For multitasking Mill-Turn machines, the ability to specify a fixed B axis angle for the tool and tool holder has been added for turning operations to provide better tool control.    

User Interface Improvements: 

  • Addition of a Tool Tree Tab to simplify the creation of tools and tool cribs, more easily manage tools and operations including selecting, editing, replacing, and deleting tools.

It is ideal for improving the speed and efficiency while responding to RFQs (Requests for quote) in a machine shop.
