ISCAR is introducing HELIIQMILL 390 LINE milling cutters with C3, C4, C5 and C6 CAMFIX shanks in accordance with ISO 26623-1 standard of polygonal taper shank with flange contact surface.

The new tools were designed for machining centers and multitasking machines intended for both turning and rotating tools. For machine tool spindles with ISO 26623-2 adaptation, these tools directly integrate into the spindle, providing a very rigid and stable connection.

The new HELIIQMILL CAMFIX milling cutters are an effective means for customers who
use efficient modern multitasking machine tools and produce parts according to turn-milling technology.
Today, when machined parts have become more and more complicated, multifunctional machine tools are the best production solution.

The new cutters can be a good solution for those customers who need rigid and reliable milling tools for various technology processes.

Main Features of Milling Tools with CAMFIX Shanks

  • Symmetrical loads
CAMFIX torque load is symmetrically transferred due to polygonal self-centering design.
  • Rigidity
The CAMFIX clamping mechanism with both face and taper contacts is extremely rigid against bending forces.
  • Accuracy
The CAMFIX taper and face contact ensure high precision runout repeatability when operated manually or with an automatic tool changer.

Following market demand, ISCAR is expanding the HELIIQMILL HM390 – 15 triangular insert family to meet the growing requirements of effecient milling in various industrial sectors and applications, by adding three new geometries, one in a cermet grade.

HM390 TDKT 1505PDR-GW IC30N
Generally, cermet features excellent wear resistance at high temperature and reduced buitlt-up edge formation (BUE) with respect to tungsten carbide. These properties contribute greatly to successfully applying cermet tools to high speed machining (HSM) and achieveing super finish cutting. ISCAR’s cermet grade IC30N was designed for long life and excellent surface quality. The new insert is intended mostly semi-finish and finish milling operations, providing a fine machined surface for general use aplications.

  • Features
Cermet grade for longer tool life and superior surface finish
  • Good choice for HSM due to high resistance to abrasion and oxidation wear
  • wide and sharpe-edge wiper for improved quality of machined surface
  • 0.8 mm corner radious
  • Covers a wide milling application range on steel

Applying insert made from cermet prevents BUE and thus increasing productivity when milling materials that cause high adhesion wear. The insert cutting edge continues to be sharp over a long period of time, maintaining low cutting force and excellent surface quality – hence, the cermet inserts are good choice for precise finish milling.

Tools carrying triangular insert with 3 helical 19 mm long cutting edges.

Following excellent market response to the HELIIQMILL 390 milling line with the 07, 10 and 15 mm insert sizes, ISCAR is expanding the range with tools that carry the HM390 TDKT 1907PDTR – a larger, 19 mm triangular insert.

The new HM390 TDKT 1907PDTR insert design is based on the original design of its three predecessors – HELIIQMILL 390 – 07, 10 and 15 mm inserts and includes all of their advantages.

The insert features a maximum depth of cut of 16 mm.

The new HM390 TDKT 1907PDTR large triangular insert provides high productivity, characterized by thicker and thus stronger helical cutting edges. This enables cost savings and longer tool life, compared with conventional inserts with 2 edges.

Main Features
• Triangular shape with 3 helical cutting edges
• Very rigid structure
• Positive axial rake that reduces cutting forces
• 16 mm maximum depth of cut
• Wiper flat for high surface finish
• Effective and economical solution for milling 90º shoulders
• Soft and clean cutting with long tool life

The new HELIIQMILL 390 inserts are produced from ISCAR’s latest SUMOTEC carbide grades, which provide very high productivity advantage. The new line includes endmills in diameters of 40 and 50 mm and face mills in the diameter range of 63 to 160 mm. Application includes: machining main engineering materials: steel, cast iron, stainless steel and difficult-to-cut HTSA, milling shoulders, slots and plane surfaces and general engineering.
