Creaform is once again part of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS). Creaform will be showcasing new generation of HandySCAN 3D handheld laser scanners. The Creaform flagship metrology-grade 3D scanners underwent a complete re-engineering, and are now more portable and faster at delivering accurate and high-resolution 3D scans, while remaining very simple to use. The new Go!SCAN 3D white-light handheld 3D scanners, now offered in two versions, offer unprecedented ease of use and the capability to scan any object in full color.

Creaform also presents its highly accurate quality control solutions: the HandyPROBE, the MetraSCAN 3D and the MetraSCAN-R. They provide the most accurate, simple and portable metrology solution even in an environment where temperature and humidity vary and where vibrations and human mistakes happen regularly.

Also, during the show, Creaform’s product manager Daniel Brown will present an educational conference on the 3D scanning industry, and will explain how to select the right device for the customer’s need. He will be answering questions about the 3D market in general as well as quality control and measurement solutions. At AMTEX 2014, FARO will be showcasing its most popular 3D measurement and documentation solutions. Heading the line-up at the machine tools trade event is the latest member of the best-selling FaroArm® product line, the FARO® Edge ScanArm ES with Enhanced Scanning Technology (EST).

EST is the combination of multiple hardware and software improvements designed to boost performance by improving the ability to scan challenging surfaces. Materials with dark or reflective optical qualities can now be scanned with less effort and without the need for sprays or surface coatings.

New and improved filtering algorithms automatically adjust and optimize the scanning parameters for plastic, metal, or a variety of surface finishes and colors. The new HDR (High Dynamic Range) Mode of the ScanArm ES lets users scan materials with contrasting colors (i.e. black and white) simultaneously.

Combining the Laser Line probe with the flexibility of the FaroArm, the ScanArm ES packs a big punch in a small, portable form, with an excellent price-to-performance value to boot. It is the ideal tool for product development, inspection, and quality control. In addition, the device also offers capabilities such as point cloud comparison with CAD, rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, and 3D modeling.

FARO Technologies, Inc, recently announces a new series of FARO 3D User Conferences for Asia Pacific. Continuing from last year’s successful inaugural edition of the 3D Documentation Conference held in Singapore, the 2014 conferences will be held between July and December, in five different countries across Asia Pacific – Australia, China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand.
